Buildings in Ehime, in the north west corner of Japan’s Shikoku island, are known for their distinctive roofing tiles.  These are Ibushi Kawara, and makers such as the Koizumi company, based in Imabari, and artists in them.

They also apply this craftsmanship to making items in the same material, such as these patterned coasters.
